Why is the cart discount not applied?
Overview
XB: AI Cart Upsell Cart Drawer applies its discounts, such as reward tiers with Use discount created by Xboost, cart upsell discounts and product add-on discounts, with a Shopify discount named Xboost Cart. It runs in the cart and at checkout. If the cart drawer shows a discount but the price does not drop, go through these checks.
Checks
1. The app's discount is active
In your Shopify admin, go to Discounts and search for xboost. The automatic discount Xboost Cart must be Active. Do not delete it or turn it off.
2. Your manual upsell offers are not too large
Shopify limits the size of the settings a discount function can read. Your Cart Page Upsell offers that have a discount are stored in the app's discount, together with every product you pick in them. This includes both:
- the trigger products you pick with Select products under Product based triggers (Specific products or All products except products), and
- the offer products you pick with Add Product under Offer > Manual.
The size grows mostly when you have many manual upsell offers with a discount, and many picked products in each offer. When the settings grow past Shopify's limit, the discount stops working for all cart discounts.
To fix it, go to Cart Drawer > Body > Up-sell > Create Manual UpSells and make your offers smaller:
- Deactivate or delete the offers you no longer use.
- Remove trigger products and offer products you do not need from each offer.
- Merge offers that use the same discount and products into one offer.
- Pick fewer trigger products: use All products when the offer can show for any cart product, or All products except collections to exclude whole collections instead of single products.
- For offers that do not need hand-picked offer products, choose Automatic under Offer instead of Manual, or use Use AI Recommended UpSells.
3. Other discounts
A discount code the shopper enters, or another app's discount, can stop the cart discount when the two discounts do not combine. In Discounts, open the other discount and check its Combinations.
