How to use Rewards function in your cart
Overview
Rewards are a way to encourage customers to increase their purchases. When customers add products to their cart, the rewards bar acts as a progress tracker, showing them how close they are to earning discounts based on the value of their cart. This feature motivates customers to spend more in order to unlock valuable rewards, ultimately boosting sales.

User Guide
To use Rewards function in your cart, follow these detailed steps:
1. Create discounts
First, please create discounts (automatic discount or free shipping) using Shopify’s Discounts feature. These will be applied via the Rewards function.
Navigate to the Rewards tab inside Cart Drawer section.

If you don’t have the discount code yet, please click on “Create Discount” in the warning at the top of this Reward page.

Follow the instructions in the video to create your discounts:
2. Configure rewards to match created discounts.
Select the reward basis type and configure the rewards to match the discounts you’ve created.
Reward basis type is the criteria used to determine how rewards are applied in discounts.
**Reward basis type must match with created discount in step 1**
We have 2 options for you as below:
- Cart amount: The total value of the items in a customer’s shopping cart before discounts are applied.
- Item count: The total number of individual items in a customer’s shopping cart.
Create reward tiers:
- Reward type: Choose the type of reward that you want to apply (Free shipping, Free product or Order discount) and each type of rewards have its own icon.
- Reward description: A short title shows under the tier icon.
- Min amount or Min items: The discount will be applied if cart amount or item count reaches minimum value.
- Text before achieving: The text shows before the value reaches the minimum cart amount or item count.
Note: If you want to use Free product tier, please prepare manually free products you want and add the products when configuring the reward. We will automatically add the products to the cart if the condition is met. However, if the product has a price, it will still be applied to the cart.

3. Customize the Rewards bar.
Customize rewards bar’s colors, reward descriptions, text before achieving and text after completing full rewards bar as you want.

- Bar background color: This is the overall background of the rewards progress bar.
- Bar foreground color: This represents the actual progress of the rewards bar. For example, if the cart qualifies for free shipping, the rewards bar will look like this:

- Reward text color: This refers to the text color used for both text before achieving and text after completing full rewards bar.
– Text before achieving is the text shows before the value reach the minimum cart amount or item count.
– Text after completing full rewards bar is the text shows when the value reaches the minimum cart amount or item count.
You can change color and content of both.

The text will be showed as you configure it.

- Reward tag text color: This is the color of the Reward description. You can change both the color and the content.

It will be showed as you configure it:

Unachieved icon color: This represents the color of the discount that has not yet been met.
Achieved icon color: This represents the color of the discount that has been met.
4. Rewards bar on storefront.
The rewards bar will be applied to your cart according to your configuration.
